Asthma Incidence On The Rise

The latest statistics available show that the incidence of asthma is on the rise. Not great surprise given the amount of stress on chldren and adults alike is increasing. Environmental poisons, chemical exposure, hectic schedules, food additives, all of these continual stresses pull on the nervous system, further weakening the immune system. Cottonwood Triggers Allergies and Asthma

“Headaches for Years” relieved by Dr. Mangas

“i have had headaches for years!” This was shared with us by one of our patients the other day. ”Now they are gone.” After treating this patient a few times, the headaches were resolved. I wish I could say that every case was this simple, but they are not. Still, headaches are one of the most common things I see in our office.

There are different causes for headaches. They can be created by spinal misalignments (subluxations). Other types of headaches can be created by chemical issues like hormone imbalances, blood sugar imbalances, and toxicity. Still more headaches can be created by imbalances in the electrical pathways of the body or the acupuncture pathways. Allergies or sensitivities can also trigger headaches. Each one of these headache causes has a different presentation in terms of symptoms. It takes experience and good clinical judgement to be able to discern the causes of these headaches.

Allergies are an over reaction of the body to a common substance. Food allergies affects 3 million kids in the U.S. There are eight foods that typically account for 80% of the food sensitivities. Milk, eggs, nuts,corn, wheat, soy, fish, and shellfish are the primary “big hitters.” Traces of these foods can be found in many different food combinations. It makes “avoidance” a difficult challenge for those families with children who suffer from food allergies.
